Four steps to a more useful inventory conversation.
You do not need to be a door expert. A few clear photos and measurements can help Royal determine whether a warehouse item may work for your opening or repair.
Find the labels
Photograph the manufacturer label, model, serial number, product code, and any stamped hardware numbers you can safely see.
Measure safely
Record the opening width and height, individual section height and thickness, and the number of sections without disassembling anything.
Show the details
Take wide and close-up photos of the front, back, panel profile, windows, color, texture, hardware, and any damage.

Complete door package
Door sections plus the track and hardware required for a specific opening. Operators may be separate.
Door section or panel
One horizontal section used to replace a damaged portion of a compatible sectional overhead door.
Operator or accessory
Motor operators, remotes, wall controls, photo eyes, keypads, access controls, and related components.
Hardware or dock item
Track, rollers, hinges, weather seals, dock components, and other application-specific parts or equipment.

Labels vary by manufacturer and product age. Never remove a spring, cable, bracket, or loaded component to reach a label.
Door or replacement section
Look for labels and identifying details in these common locations:
- Back of the top or second door section
- End stile or edge of the section near a hinge
- Manufacturer sticker, product code, model, or serial number
- Section thickness, individual section height, exterior design, and color
- Window size, shape, insert pattern, and placement
Operator, hardware, or accessory
Photograph the complete item and any labels or stamped numbers:
- Operator housing or motor-head label
- Model, serial number, voltage, horsepower, and manufacture date
- Remote, wall control, or receiver model number
- Numbers stamped on hinges, brackets, or other safely accessible hardware
- Original invoice, manual, warranty card, or installation paperwork
Measurements to collect
Use inches and note whether each measurement is exact or approximate.
- Finished opening width, measured left to right
- Finished opening height, measured floor to header
- Individual section height and overall section width
- Section thickness and total number of door sections
- Headroom, side room, and back room when Royal requests them
Safety first: Do not loosen, remove, or measure wound springs, lift cables, bottom brackets, or other components under tension. These parts can cause serious injury and should be handled only by trained door professionals.
